a bit about me:

Emily is a one-of-a-kind passionate, motivated, and down-to-earth environmentalist with a wide variety of skills and interests. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science and Management with an emphasis in Education and Interpretation from California Polytechnic University Humboldt. She is always looking for her next prime opportunity to further her mission and work in the field of natural resource communication. She can't wait for her next adventure!

Emily's Mission: To foster a real relationship between her fellow humans and the lands, plants, animals, and natural resources that support our lives on this planet.

 Her Life Story

Emily grew up with Cull Canyon East Bay Regional Park in her backyard and this easy access to green space raised her into the passionate and motivated environmentalist she is today.

A self-proclaimed "Canyon Kid" She spent her childhood "herping" (looking for reptiles, amphibians, and other critters) in the hills of the East San Francisco Bay Area. Emily has always been obsessed with animals and nature. She got her first pet snake when she was 5, and had a menagerie of exotic pets growing up (some of which she still has now). She still loves animal keeping and keeps a variety of reptiles, amphibians, birds, and mammals.

Emily has always pursued opportunities to educate the community about wildlife. Throughout High School, Emily volunteered for the Oakland Zoo as a Teen Wild Guide, was employed as a Vet Tech Assistant at her local Exotic Veterinary Hospital, and was an independent contractor for a traveling Educational Animal Ambassador program. Obtaining a bachelor of science degree in Environmental Science and Management from Cal Poly Humboldt was just the seal of approval for all of the work she had done and continues to do.

Emily has made it her mission to empower the people in her community, to build a real relationship with our shared lands and wildlife. It has been a privilege for her to be able to do this work in her home of the San Francisco Bay Area.

Emily hopes to continue her work through high-quality wildlife and natural resource communication, to create kind stewards of our shared Earth.
